“东隅”的命名意味着现代东方的旅游生活特性，突显国际化、高效、时尚、趣味性，又蕴含了传统的文化智慧。

突出的几点有：

阴阳谐和：一块沉稳的、35英尺长的背发光接待台，从柱体上悬挑出来，对比一条宽大通透的玻璃楼梯围绕着造型奇特的木质与钢架混合的结构体回旋而上，正代表着香港无穷的能量；
有趣的中国元素：电梯的层显以中文表示，接待台背景墙发光的中式符号；
所有公共区域及酒店客房内的材质都是协调一致、简洁大方的色调，营造出宁静的东方氛围。

The name “EAST” reflects the design concept which interprets the contemporary Oriental travel experience as being world class, efficient, modern, playful and with a touch of culture. This is achieved through:

Yin and Yang: A serene, 35ft. long, back illuminated reception desk cantilevered from a single column, vs a glass grand stair with a labyrinth of steel and wood to symbolize the energy of Hong Kong.
Playful Chinese elements: Chinese characters for floor number indication, a backlit Contemporary Chinese landscape painting as the reception backdrop.
Consistent and simple material palette serves to unify all the outlets and guest rooms and provide a calming, Eastern touch.
